Overview
Voice Design lets you create a brand-new AI voice from nothing but a written description. No recordings, no samples, no training data — just describe the gender, age, tone, accent, and speaking style you want, and Ease Voice Lab generates a custom voice in seconds. It's perfect for original characters, brand voices, narrators, and anything the ready-made library doesn't cover.
Voice Design is different from Voice Cloning: cloning replicates a real voice from an audio sample, while Voice Design invents a new voice from your text description.
Step 1: Open Voice Design
Click Voice Design in the left sidebar. The design form sits at the top, and Your Designed Voices appears below it.
Step 2: Describe the Voice
In the Voice Description field, describe the voice you want. The more specific you are, the more distinctive the result — cover these traits:
| Characteristic | Examples |
|---|---|
| Gender | male, female, neutral |
| Age | young, middle-aged, elderly |
| Tone | warm, authoritative, cheerful, calm |
| Accent | British, American, neutral |
| Speaking style | slow and clear, energetic, conversational |
Example description:
A warm, deep male voice with a calm and reassuring tone. Middle-aged,
speaks slowly with clear articulation. Perfect for audiobook narration. In a hurry? Pick a Quick Start Template (Warm Narrator, Energetic Host, Professional Anchor…) to prefill the form, or hit Random for a surprise starting point — then tweak it.
Step 3: Add Preview Text and a Name
- Preview Text — the sample line the new voice will speak so you can hear it. Use a sentence close to how you'll actually use the voice.
- Voice Name (optional) — give it a memorable name so it's easy to find later.
Step 4: Choose the Language
Select the Language the voice will speak. Voice Design supports 10 languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
Step 5: Create the Voice
Click Create Voice. In a few seconds the new voice appears in Your Designed Voices with a Ready status and a preview you can play.
Each plan includes a limited number of design slots. If you reach the limit, delete a voice you no longer need or upgrade your plan.
Step 6: Use It in Text to Speech
On any designed voice, click Use in TTS to drop it straight into the Text to Speech editor. Type or paste your script, click Generate Audio, and your custom voice produces a full voiceover you can download as an MP3.
Tips for Better Voices
| Tip | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Be specific | Vague prompts give generic voices; concrete traits give distinctive ones |
| Describe one persona | Stick to a single coherent character, not a mix of styles |
| Match preview text to your use case | Hearing a realistic line makes it easier to judge the fit |
| Iterate | Not quite right? Adjust the description and create again |
